Goodbye Twitter
So Elon Musk finally managed to get that shithole of a platform banned here in Brazil and as much as i agree that he is a massive asshole the TLDR is that he is right, Moraes is no better than him, if not much much worse, not to mention his request being straight up illegal and authoritarian.
The interesting thing is as much as this is being treated as the whole country getting cut off from the internet its really just a shithole app being blocked and not even being blocked that well. Twitter is not the whole internet and is in fact just a tiny speck of it, the media and twitter itself wants you to believe its far more important than it is.
The odd thing is that in my limited experience with BlueSky the network is…Actually cozy? Its literally a carbon copy of twitter and it feels so serene and welcoming, no wonder part of it is just the CEO strategy of growing the place quicker but nevertheless its weird to use any modern platform and have even if just a mildly pleasant experience.
Its also impressive how we have to BEG for the absolutely bare minimum, like, was it really that much of a revolution to just add a bit of blue paint and have a lil mascot to make your site look a liiiiiittle bit more friendly? I guess it just goes how to show how much billions of dollars buys you nowadays.
Twitter’s posts will be made accessible through some means or another and thats as much as i will say, but its intriguing how at the end of the day having it removed entirely from a whole country might have been for the better.
